Police Blotter: DUI, Fake Name, Trailers Stolen

New Lenox Police reports, Aug. 8-12.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 10

Resident's Info Used

A woman on the 1000 block of Star Lane told police that her personal information has been used multiple times to acquire money. Police wouldn't release how much money had been taken because there are numerous incidents being investigated.

Bike Stolen

A bike was taken from the driveway of a home on the 2000 block of Palmer Ranch Drive.

DUI Charges

Steven L. Szablewski, 25, of the 1100 block of Pine Place, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. Police said they saw Szablewski speeding near Cedar Road and Elm Street at 3:26 a.m. He was given traffic tickets.

Property Damage

  • Someone damaged a door on the 700 block of East Joliet Highway.
  • The hose on a gas pump was damaged at the Jewel Express gas station on Nelson Road.

Cable Fraud

A resident on the 900 block of Armstrong Lane told police that someone used his personal information to get illegal cable service.

MONDAY, AUG. 8

Theft at Jewel

Travis E. Berggren, 20, of the 2900 block of Gifford Place, was issued a ticket for retail theft after police responded to a complaint at the Jewel-Osco on Nelson Road.

Car Burglary

A bag full of personal items was stolen from an unlocked car parked on the 2300 block of East Washington Street.

Trailers Stolen

Two semi-tractor trailers were stolen from the parking lot of Titan Steel on the 2200 block of Haven Avenue.

No License

Kalesha S. Gibson, 32, of University Park, was given traffic tickets for not wearing a seat belt, not having a valid license, driving without insurance and having expired registration.

Obstructing Officer

Arthur W. Coote, 45, of Crest Hill, was charged with driving with a revoked license after police randomly ran his license plate on the 1800 block of West Lincoln Highway. After being stopped by the police, Coote gave police a fake name. He was also charged with obstructing a peace officer and driving without insurance. He was given traffic tickets.
