Police Blotter: DUI, Check Fraud

New Lenox Police reports, Feb. 11-13.

sunday, feb. 13

Fraud at Jewel

An employee at the Jewel/Osco on Nelson Road told police that someone paid for their groceries with a fraudulent $250 check. Police are investigating the incident.

DUI Alleged

Robert Noble, 49, of Manhattan, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the 700 block of West Route 30. Police say they saw Noble speeding and also discovered he did not have valid insurance or a valid license. Noble was issued traffic citations for all charges.

Suspended License

Robert Williams, 23, of Frankfort, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police ran a random registration check on his car. He was driving at 3:40 p.m. near Route 30 and Interstate 80, and was issued traffic citations.

saturday, feb. 12

In-State Warrant

New Lenox police say they saw Candace Walker, 39, of Joliet, driving with one headlight and a loud muffler at 7:50 p.m. Saturday near Route 30 and Pine Street. After pulling over Walker, police discovered she was driving with a suspended license and had a warrant for her arrest for the failure to appear in Will County Court. She was given traffic citations and taken to Will County jail for the warrant.

Suspended License

Christopher Erickson, 29, of Tinley Park, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his registration at 1800 W. Route 30.

No Child Seat

Police say Heather Burgett, 29, of Joliet, was driving near 1500 W. Route 30 with a child not properly restrained in a child seat and her vehicle didn't have a front license plate. After pulling her over, police say they discovered Burgett had a suspended license and no valid proof of insurance. She was issued traffic citations.

Revoked License

Police say George Donald, 51, of Lockport, was driving with one working headlight at about 8 p.m. Saturday near Francis Road and Green Street. They pulled him over and discovered he had a revoked license and no valid proof of insurance. He was issued traffic citations.

Check Fraud

A woman from the 700 block of Downing Street told police that someone created a fraudulent check for about $30 using her bank account information. Police are investigating the incident.
