Police Blotter: Drug Possession, Car Burglary

New Lenox police reports, Jan. 9-13.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 11

Controlled Substance

James J. Triggs, 27, of the 1700 block of Grand Prairie Drive in New Lenox, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

License Violations

  • Alejandra Lopez, 32, of the 1000 block of Schoolgate Road in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a revoked license and one headlight.
  • Heber Navarrete-Castro, 25, of the 900 block of Joliet Highway in New Lenox, was charged with driving with a suspended license.

In-State Warrant

Police responded to a suspicious person call at the New Lenox Metra lot and found that the subject had a warrant for his arrest. Keith R. Garfinkle, 26, of Plainfield, posted bond and was given a court date for his in-state warrant.

TUESDAY, JAN. 10

Car Burglarized

Someone stole a bag, a computer and jewelry from a car parked in the 1400 block of Grandview Drive.

License Violation

Tracy E. Fotsis, 30, of Lockport, was ticketed for driving without a valid license, insurance or a front license plate.

MONDAY, JAN. 9

Sewer Grates Taken

A sewer grate was stolen from the 1000 block of Sanctuary Pointe. Sewer grates have been taken from this location before.

Suspended License

Frank Edmond III, 33, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with expired registration and a suspended license, as well as driving without insurance.

THURSDAY, JAN. 5

Credit Card Fraud

A New Lenox resident told police someone used a personal debit card to make about $500 in purchases.
