Police Blotter: Counterfeit Bills Used at Walmart

The following arrest information was supplied by the New Lenox Police Department for June 17-20 reports. It does not indicate a conviction.

MONDAY, JUNE 20

Wallet, Phone Stolen

A man's cell phone and wallet were missing after he set them down on the bar at Prime Time Restaurant & Bar, 2387 E. Joliet Hwy. The man said he returned to the bar shortly after setting down his personal items and found that they were gone. Police are investigating the incident.

Car Damaged

A man told New Lenox police that someone scratched his car while it was parked in a lot on the 100 block of Hickory Street. Police are investigating the incident.

SUNDAY, JUNE 19

Counterfeit Bills

Someone made a purchase of about $250 at Walmart, 501 E. Route 30, using counterfeit bills, an employee told police. The incident is being investigated.

DUI Alleged

Daniel Mekstan, 23, of the 1400 block of Fernwood Terrace in New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him near the 1400 block of Eagle Vista Drive at 1:40 a.m. early Sunday. Police were responding to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Mekstan was given traffic tickets.

SATURDAY, JUNE 18

Phone Swiped at CVS

A New Lenox woman set her phone down at the CVS on Nelson Road to look at some merchandise, and later realized it was missing. Police are investigating the incident.

FRIDAY, JUNE 17

Property Damage

A man on the 700 block of Tauber Road told police that someone damaged the door jamb at the entry of his home. Police are investigating the incident.

Reckless Driving

Police say they saw Joshua Grebic, 17, of Manhattan, driving recklessly down Daniel Lewis Drive in New Lenox on Friday morning. After stopping him, police discovered that Grebic was driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance. He was given traffic tickets.
