Police Blotter: Construction Site Theft, DUI Charge

New Lenox police reports, April 26-29.

SUNDAY, APRIL 29

Car Burglarized

Someone entered an unlocked car in the 300 block of East Woodlawn Road and stole change.

Property Damage

  • Someone broke several windows and drywall at an unoccupied home in the 18300 block of Gougar Road.
  • A swimming pool was punctured at a home in the 1300 block of O'Connell Circle.

License Violations

  • Rene Aguilar, 33, of Oak Forest, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Washington Street.
  • David Pantoja, 28, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his plates in Laraway Road.

License Violations

  • Jose Puerto, 43, of Lake Beach, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police stopped him for "driving at an extremely low rate of speeding, interfering with traffic."
  • Stacey Guerrero, 31, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police noticed an obstructed windshield.
  • Lourdes Caruajal, 32, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran her plates near Route 30 and Gougar Road.
  • Sara Zyla, 20, of the 700 block of Sojourn Road in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, no insurance and no front license plate. 

FRIDAY, APRIL 27

DUI Charge

Michael Ceci, 49, of Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana, speeding and driving without insurance. Police said Ceci was speeding near Route 30 and Gougar Road at about 7 p.m., and after stopping him discovered he was under the influence. He was issued tickets and released.

$900 Saw Stolen

A concrete saw valued at $900 was stolen from a construction site at Route 30 and Pleasant Street.

No Seat Belt

Justin Tamborski, 24, of the 2600 block of Walter Drive in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no seat belt. 

THURSDAY, APRIL 26

Garage Theft

Someone stole auto refinishing from a garage in the 700 block of O'Connell Circle. The value was unknown.
