Walmart Theft

A Walmart employee said someone stuffed backpacks full of items in the store and left without paying.

DUI Alleged

Jason M. Spiess, 25, of the 2900 block of Rydal Street, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, speeding and the failure to signal. Police stopped Spiess at 11:10 p.m. near the 2000 block of East Route 30. He was taken to Will County Jail.

License Violations

  • Eliazor Villasenor-Arreola, 28, of the 14000 block of West Illinois Highway in New Lenox, was charged with driving with a suspended license and having an equipment violation. She was given traffic tickets.
  • Daniel Sutter, 32, of Joliet, was charged with driving without insurance or registration. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Ernesto Hernandez, 34, of the 700 block of Northern Lights Way in New Lenox, was charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance or a front license plate. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Julio C. Gonzalez, 37, of Frankfort, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his license plates near Laraway and Spencer roads.

Credit Fraud

A resident told police that someone used his personal information to open a bank account without permission.

Car Stolen

A car was stolen from the Metra commuter lot at 300 N. Church St. Police weren't immediately available with more information.

8 Cars Burglarized

Police were called to the Metra commuter lot at 300 N. Church St. to investigate a car burglary. Someone shattered the driver's side window and stole electronics. Police discovered seven other cars in the lot that had the windows smashed and items stolen.

DVDs Stolen

Two people hid 11 DVDs under their clothing and left Walmart without paying for them. Police were called there after the thieves left.

Park District Gift Taken

An aluminum flag pole was stolen from a field near 100 American Pride Lane. The flag pole was a gift to the New Lenox Park District.
