Police Blotter: Burglaries in Metra Lot

SUNDAY, MAY 13

Car Burglary

A purse was stolen from a car parked in the 700 block of Dartmouth Lane.

Property Damage

Someone broke a window to a car parked in the Metra commuter lot at 300 N. Church St. Nothing was reported stolen. 

Metra Lot Burglaries

Two burglaries were reported at about the same time in the Metra commuter lot near Laraway Road and Calistoga Drive. A jersey valued at $60 was stolen from one car and the title to the vehicle was stolen from a second car. Both reports were filed at about 6:30 p.m.

FRIDAY, MAY 11

Boating Equipment Stolen

While preparing a boat for the water, a resident in the 700 block of Tanager Lane discovered a box of miscellaneous boating equipment was missing. The value of the items in the box was $700.

Credit Fraud

A New Lenox resident told police that someone used her debit card information to make about $3,000 in unauthorized purchases. 

License Violations

  • Rosario Demiele, 55, of Alsip, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran her plates near Cedar Road and Illinois Highway.
  • Denise Musilek, 35, of the 200 block of Hickory Street in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran her plates near Cedar Road and Hickory Street.
  • Steven Balasa, 45, of Orland Park, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran his plates near Illinois Highway and Northgate Road.
