Fraud
A resident told police that someone tried to open a bank account in her name.

Garage Theft
An air compressor was stolen from an open garage in the 700 block of Central Avenue.
Car Burglaries
Various tools were stolen from work vans in two separate incidents. The first incident reported was in the 700 block of Ridgefield Road, where $3,300 of tools were taken. About $700 of tools were later stolen from a work van in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive.

Grocery Theft
- Someone stole various items from the Jewel Osco store in Nelson Road. The estimated loss was $275.
- Helen Hoffman, 22, of Kentucky, was charged with retail theft. Police said she took about $50 of groceries from Berkot's Super Foods without paying.
Suspended License
Alberto Seba, 23, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Gougar Road.
TUESDAY, MAY 29
Fraud
- Police are investigating a complaint from a resident who said someone removed about $750 from a gift card he had.
- A resident told police someone redirected her social security deposit to another account, taking $1,800.
MONDAY, MAY 28
Attempted Theft
A Walmart employee said someone tried to walk out of the store carrying a $180 flatscreen TV. When a greeter asked to see the receipt, the person set down the TV and left.
Warrant Arrest
Matthew Fields, 26, of the 13000 block of Francis Road in New Lenox, was booked on a warrant for his arrest for the failure to appear in Will County Court. Police discovered the warrant after spotting a "suspicious subject" near Route 30 and Church Street at 3:50 a.m.
SATURDAY, MAY 26
Car Burglary
A DVD player and $400 in gift cards were stolen from an unlocked car in the 300 block of Stonegate Road.
