NL Woman Charged With Heroin Possession

Kathleen M. Garrington, 29, of New Lenox, was booked in Will County Jail after police discovered she also had a warrant for her arrest.

A New Lenox woman was booked in the county jail Sunday after police say they found heroin in her possession. 

Kathleen M. Garrington, 29, of New Lenox, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Her bail was set at $12,500. 

According to a police report, the owner of a home in the 600 block of Stonegate Road called police about an "unwanted person," meaning the owner didn't want Garrington there.

Garrington told police the Stonegate home was her last address, but her driver's license turned up a different address, Deputy Chief Bob Pawlisz said. 

After speaking with Garrington police discovered she had a warrant for her arrest and said she was also in possession of less than 1 gram of heroin.

On Feb. 7, a warrant was issued for Garrington . According to the Will County Sheriff's Department, her bail was previously set at $100,000. The warrant listed her last known address in the 100 block of First Avenue.

Garrington is in the Will County Jail awaiting a court date.
