New Lenox Woman Tries to Dine-and-Dash at Mokena Denny's

The 22-year-old woman and her friend attempted to ditch their $44 tab despite multiple sheriff's deputies sitting in the restaurant.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 20

Theft and Disorderly Conduct
Brittany A. Rotto, 22, of the 700 block of Schoolgate Road in New Lenox, and Sarah A. Frazier, 28, of the 10700 block of Mary Lane in Mokena, were cited for theft and disorderly conduct, police said. Police were called to Denny's, 19099 Old LaGrange Rd., after Rotto and Frazier tried to leave without paying their $44 tab at 6 a.m.

The waitress said the two women ordered their food and asked for several items boxed, according to the report. Rotto would go back and forth to the bathroom, and the waitress told police it seemed the women were trying to skip out on their bill, but they were waiting for some Will County Sheriff's deputies to leave, according to the report.

While Rotto was in the restroom, Frazier told the waitress Rotto would pay and Frazier would wait for her in the car. After a few minutes, Rotto left and the waitress chased after them.

They were stopped in the parking lot by the Will County officers, Mokena police said.
