Police Blotter: Woman Wanted on Burglary Charge Found in Pizza Hut

THURSDAY, AUG. 23

Failure to appear warrant executed

Ernesto Hernandez, 34, of New Lenox, was arrested on a Will County warrant for failure to appear after a call in the 1800 block of Heatherway Lane regarding questions about an eviction notice. He posted bond and was released.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 22

Traffic tickets issued

Fernando Cedillo, 40, of Joliet, was stopped by police for allegedly failing to yield in a designated area in the 1800 block of W. Route 30. Police also discovered that he was driving on a suspended license. He was issued tickets and released.

Driving on a suspended license

Joseph Vola, 31, of New Lenox, was stopped in his car at the intersection of Cedar Road and Route 6 after police noticed a taillight was out. A check of his license revealed that it had been suspended. He was issued citations for the faulty taillight and for driving on a suspended license.

TUESDAY, AUG. 21

Burglar forced way into the home

Shortly before 5 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of Illinois Highway to investigate a home burglary. No information about the items stolen or how the forced entry was made was revealed, but police are investigating the incident.   

Criminal trespass

Police say someone in the 100 block of Wildwood Drive complained that someone entered the garage but took nothing.

Theft of loose change

Police say they were called to a residence in the 100 block of W. Fourth Avenue and met with a man who complained that someone stole loose change from his detached garage.

MONDAY, AUG. 20

Police nab woman for theft

Rose Marta, 27, of Joliet, who was wanted for her alleged involvement in a March felony theft on West Third Avenue, was spotted by police at the Pizza Hut in the 300 block of West Route 30. She was previously charged with burglarizing a home in West Third Avenue and stealing some items. Records showed that she was also wanted on a failure to appear warrant in LaSalle County. Marta was taken to the Will County Jail, where bond was set at $20,000.

Truck dented in parking lot

Police say a criminal damage to property complaint was filed by someone who was at work in the 1900 block of Ferro Road. According to the report, the side of someone's truck was dented while it was parked in the rear of the business. Police are investigating the incident. 

A trio of tickets issued

Maryann Paetzmann, 45, of New Lenox, was stopped in her car for allegedly speeding in the area of Illinois Highway and Nelson Road. Records showed that she was also driving on a suspended license and for driving an uninsured vehicle.
