The New Lenox police carted a man off to the county jail after he allegedly put a beer on the leg of a girl.

Dale Brandt, 55, allegedly accosted the girl shortly after 10 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Brandt "made physical contact with a minor of an insulting or provoking nature," police said.

Brandt made this contact with the child while they were at the 301 W. Maple St. Speedway gas station, police said.

According to court papers, Brandt "placed a cold beer on her leg."

Brandt resides at 708 E. Joliet Highway in New Lenox, according to county jail records. But the New Lenox police said he lives at 373 Western Ave. in Joliet.

County jail records show Brandt was booked Nov. 15 on a charge of felony aggravated battery. According to court records, he appeared before a judge Nov. 16 on a misdemeanor battery charge.

Brandt was released from jail after posting $1,500 bond.

Most likely the guy was come from a bar want that last 6 pack or whatever and bumped into the girl. I bet this whole incident was blown out of control as usual.

Yeah it was probably an accident. Men put beers on the legs of girls they don't know all the time!

I especially like the sensationalist journalism of using terms like "child" and "beer"

Um, this "child" was younger than 13, and does it matter what this child was wearing?? Also, this OLD Dirty scum of the earth said a few choice words to this CHILD..... NOT blown out of proportion

Hmm Heidi.. Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. You are obviously not a mother. When you see the word "child" in any situation along with "creepy dirty old man" I don't think it really matters what a "child" under the age of 13 is wearing. No MAN that is STRANGE(R) old enough to be the girks grandfather should ever put their hands on a "child" shame on you making speculations on a young incident child who was traumatized by a strange man putting his hands where they don't belong.. On her! So, let me get this straight..,you think a young girl, who just got back from a school related sport in the dead of winter is dressing like a 29 year old, innocently getting a "slurpie" should be treated the way she dresses? Which would be in "justice clothes " should be touched by some dirty drunk? I'm sure the scratch and sniff smelly shirt from the store Justice .. "Baited him" in to putting his hands on her.. I truly hope you are not a mother.. Poor excuse for one.. We can tell you would protect "your man" over your child. Get the facts before you assume something you know absolutely nothing about.. You're probably his girlfriend sickened that he now is considered a pedi file...
