New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) firefighters will be hitting the streets to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) with their Annual Boot Drive.
On Friday, June 27 from 3p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, June 28 from 9a.m. to 12p.m. NLFPD firefighters will be collecting money at the intersections of Francis Road and Cedar Road, as well as Nelson Road and Laraway Road.
“We’d love to see the residents of New Lenox and area communities join us in our campaign to fill the boot,” said NLFPD Chief Jon Mead. “Last year we were able to raise over $3,300 for the MDA and we hope to exceed that amount this year.”
All proceeds from the Fill the Boot program go directly to the families of MDA to help finance medical treatments and any physical therapy needs that are required for the individuals affected by the disease.
The primary mission of the New Lenox Fire and Ambulance Protection District is to provide a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property within New Lenox Village and Township from the effects for fires and sudden medical emergencies or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature with professional, compassionate, and quality service.
