New Lenox Cops Say They Caught Chicago Man With Someone Else's Drugs

A Chicago man was jailed on drug charges after a run-in with the New Lenox police.

A New Lenox cop who pulled over a speeder ended up arresting a Chicago man for allegedly holding somebody else's prescription medicine.

Nicholas Schnur, 33, of 5844 W. Giddings St. was pulled over shortly after 3:30 a.m. Thursday near the junction of Interstate 80 and Route 30. Schnur was speeding, police said.

The officer making the traffic stop "discovered that the driver, Schnur, was in possession of drug equipment and prescription medication that belonged to someone else and he did not have a prescription to possess," police said.

Schnur was taken to the Will County jail and booked into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, possession of cannabis and speeding, according to records from the detention facility.

Schnur was released after posting bond.
