New Lenox Cops Looking to Cut Off Car Crimes

The New Lenox police probed three incidents of automobile-related crime last week.

The New Lenox police tackled three separate car crime cases over the course of two days last week.

The spree started about 6 a.m. Monday. An officer sent to the 400 block of West Joliet Highway was told by a resident that "an unknown person took his vehicle without his permission," police said.

The vehicle was reportedly located a short time later near the intersection of Illinois Highway and Nelson Road.

Then, shortly after 9:30 a.m., a man from the 900 block of Western Avenue told an officer "an unknown person took his vehicle without his permission," police said.

This vehicle also was located a short time later, but had made it all the way to Country Club Hills before it was found.

By Tuesday night, an officer was sent to the 300 block of East Joliet Highway and learned from a resident "that an unknown person entered her vehicle and removed a phone charger and wireless headphone."

All three crimes were sent to the department's investigations division for review.
