Police make two drug busts.

Domestic dispute alerts police; drugs found at the scene

Jonathan Almanza, 26, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance along with a felony amount of marijuana after a dispute at a home in the 600 block of E. Route 30. According to the report, when police arrived to settle the dispute, they discovered the alleged drugs in Almanza's possession. Officers noted that the controlled substance appeared to be hallucinogenic "mushrooms" along with a felony amount of marijuana.

He was taken to the Will County jail, where bond was set at $15,000.

Speeding gets pair stopped; drug paraphernalia found

John Carlson, 26, Joliet, was pulled over for speeding in his car at Nelson and Spencer Roads. Upon investigation, police discovered that he was also driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle.

His passenger, 25-year-old Patricia Winkelman, Joliet, was reportedly in possession of a pipe used for smoking marijuana. Police further discovered that she had two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court in Cook and Will Counties. 

Carlson was ticketed by New Lenox police. Winkelman was taken to the Will County jail, where bond was set at $10,000.
