NL Police Seize Drugs From Man's Home for Second Time in a Year

New Lenox Police Department executed a search warrant at the home of Joshua A. Richly, a 21-year-old Crest Hill man who was charged with the manufacture/delivery of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

After seizing guns, ecstasy and marijuana from a Crest Hill man's home in August 2011, New Lenox police have filed more drug-related charges against him.

Joshua A. Richly, 21, of Crest Hill, was charged last week with the manufacture/delivery of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment.

New Lenox police seized about 2 pounds of marijuana, a powdery substance believed to be cocaine and some other hallucinogenic drugs July 16 from Richly's home after executing a search warrant, police said.

According to police, investigators from the New Lenox Police Department were acting on a information received earlier in the month. Deputy Chief Bob Pawlisz said Richly's arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation.

Richly was taken to the Will County Jail and was released after posting bond.

New Lenox police executed a warrant in August 2011 that resulted in similar charges against Richly, who was living in the 500 block of Krakar Avenue in Joliet, at the time.

His previous charges were: armed violence, manufacturing or delivering more than 2,000 grams of marijuna, possession of a controlled substance, possession of 30 or more grams of illegal drugs and possession of a vehicle title without assignment.

In that instance, New Lenox police investigators executed a search warrant based on information they had received. They seized two shotguns, more than 2,300 grams of marijuana and other drugs from the home.

In that arrest, the 's investigations unit followed information that lead them to Richly's home. Officers executed a search warrant and said they found 2,311 grams of marijuana, 46 ecstasy pills, 10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, two Mossberg shotguns, an open title to a vehicle and other drug paraphernlia, including pipes.

There was no struggle during the August 2011 arrest, but Richly was charged with armed violence for possessing weapons and the large amount of drugs.
