Man Wanted for Orland Park Home Invasion Killed Himself

Anthony M. Espinoza, 27, of Crown Point, IN, killed himself in East Chicago after a violent shooting and chase.

A home invasion in the wee hours of Friday morning in Orland Park ended when the suspect shot and killed himself as Indiana's Lake County Police were descending on the East Chicago home.

Anthony M. Espinoza, 27, of Crown Point, Indiana, shot himself inside an East Chicago residence, police say. A warrant for his arrest was issued Friday following a home invasion, shooting and chase in Orland Park. He later died of his self-inflicted wounds.

Two men who broke into an Orland Park home, shot a man inside and stole jewelry and cash, left the scene in a silver PT Cruiser with a man described as Hispanic and about 30 years old behind the wheel. Espinoza is suspected to be the getaway driver, according to Orland Park Police Commander John Keating.
