Man Charged With Battery Allegedly After Hitting a Cop: Blotter

James Neylon, 28, of the 2700 block of Gifford Place, New Lenox, was charged with battery, according to a report. Police were called at about 1:43 a.m. to the 2700 block of Gifford Place for a disturbance complaint. An officer found Neylon arguing with another person. While attempting to stop the argument, the officer allegedly was struck by Neylon. He posted bond and was released.

TUESDAY, JULY 2

Drunken Driver Report


Matthew Putman, 37, of the 1100 block of Harlyn Avenue, Rothschild, WI, was charged with driving under the influence, according to a report. Police responded at about 3:52 p.m. in the 2300 block of Route 30 for a report of a drunken person. The driver was stopped and determined to be under the influence. Putman posted bond and was released.
