Ecstasy, LSD Seized in New Lenox Arrest

Police charged a 23-year-old Monee man with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

New Lenox police stopped a potential drug deal Wednesday and seized LSD and ecstasy from a Monee man. 

Benjamin Taylor, 23, of Monee, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the report, police got a tip about a "drug transaction in the area," which led to Taylor's arrest. Police said Taylor was in possession of an undisclosed amount of LSD.

In addition, police said Taylor had 47 pills and 3 grams of white powder, both of which were suspected to be forms of ecstasy.

"This is another example of our attempt to ferret out drug transactions that occur in and around New Lenox," Deputy Police Chief Bob Pawlisz said. 

Taylor was booked into Will County Jail. A $300,000 bond was set.

Court records show that Taylor was arrested in July 2011 and charged with two counts of felony possession of heroin with the intent to deliver.
