June Crime Report: Investigations Lead to Drug Bust, Stolen Jewelry
The New Lenox Police Department released its monthly crime statistics for June, including 13 felony arrests, and we break down some cases of interest.
New Lenox police made 13 felony arrests in June, according to monthly statistics released last week by the department, including investigations that led them to a drug bust and stolen jewelry.

Cases of Interest
- Police made an arrest in connection with an April report that someone had stolen $3,000 worth of jewelry from his home on the 200 block of East Woodlawn in New Lenox. After an investigation, Carol D. Conte, 31, of the 200 block of East Woodlawn, was charged with theft.
- Christopher Rayson, 27, of the 300 block of Sunset Trail in New Lenox, was . Police executed a search warrant at Rayson's home and uncovered 70 grams of marijuana and items associated with drug dealing.
- On June 23, police found a man who "appeared to be intoxicated" sleeping in another person's car at about 4:30 a.m. Robert Curylo, 24, of the 900 block of South Cooper Road in New Lenox, was issued a bond and charged with trespass to vehicle. The owner of the car called police after seeing the man in it while parked on the 200 block of Central Road.
- On June 4, Matthew Murphy, 36, of 800 block of Meadowridge in New Lenox, was charged with aggravated battery after officers reportedly saw him lying in the roadway outside of Station House on East Route 30. The officer also located a victim behind the House of Hughes who identified Murphy as the offender, according to the report.
