July Crime Report: Burglaries Up in 2011, but 2 Result in Arrests

New Lenox police made seven felony arrests in July, according to monthly statistics released last week by the department, including investigations that led to arrests in two home burglaries and one theft.

Cases of Interest
Two people were arrested last month in connection to separate home burglaries. Michael C. Ely, 33, of Chicago, was charged with burglary of a home April 20. Carlos Ortiz, 20, of Aurora, was also charged with burglary for a June 14 incident in which an Xbox system and laptop were taken.

A during the middle of the night July 26, though nothing was reported missing from the home.
Earlier in July, in the area near the Windermere West subdivision, near Joliet and Illinois highways. Electronics were stolen from most vehicles.
