Identity Thief Steals New Lenox Man's Information For Tax Return
The identity thief tried to file a tax return in a New Lenox man's name.
An identity thief misappropriated a New Lenox man's personal information and used it in an attempt to file a tax return, police said.
An officer reportedly met with the victimized man at the police station about 3:30 p.m. May 28.
The man told the officer "an unknown person attempted to file a tax return in his name," police said.
The matter was sent to detectives from the New Lenox Police Department so they could review it.
