Guns, Weed and Ecstasy Seized from Joliet Home

The New Lenox Police Department executed a search warrant at the home of Joshua A. Richly, a 20-year-old Joliet man.

New Lenox police seized two shotguns, more than 2,300 grams of marijuana and other drugs from a Joliet man's home Monday after executing a search warrant.

Joshua A. Richly, 20, of the 500 block of Krakar Avenue in Joliet, was charged with:

  • armed violence;
  • manufacturing or delivering more than 2,000 grams of marijuana;
  • possession of a controlled substance; 
  • possession of 30 or more grams of illegal drugs; and
  • possession of a vehicle title without assignment.

The 's investigations unit followed information that lead them to Richly's home. Officers executed a search warrant at about 2 p.m. Monday and found 2,311 grams of marijuana, 46 ecstasy pills, 10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, two Mossberg shotguns, an open title to a vehicle and other drug paraphernlia, including pipes.

Sgt. Hilary Davis said there was no struggle during the arrest, but Richly was charged with armed violence for possessing weapons and the large amount of drugs.

Richly was taken to Will County Jail and was scheduled to appear at a bond hearing Tuesday. Davis did not know whether Richly lived alone at his home in Joliet, and she wouldn't release any additional information at the time because investigators are still following up on the case.
