Joliet police responded to several calls about a gunfight between two cars but arrived only to find shell casings in the street and bullet holes in a nearby house, Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
The calls about the gunfire in the area of Arthur Avenue and Garvin Street came in at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, but as far police know, no one was brought to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet or Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox for treatment for bullet wounds, Demick said. They also had no reports of cars being bullet damaged, he said.
The only "victim" appears to be a house in the 1200 block of Arthur, which had several bullet holes in the siding. Demick said it's not believed the house was targeted, and residents were not home at the time.
The spent shell casings were retrieved, but there is no other information on the parties involved, he said.
