Gas Line Ruptures Along Route 30

A small gas line rupture occurred Tuesday afternoon in New Lenox near Route 30 and Anderson Road. It should be cleaned up soon, but avoid that area until then.

A small gas line ruptured along the Route 30 construction project near Anderson Road, just east of Spencer Road, around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The Village of New Lenox sent an alert telling residents to avoid Route 30 and Anderson Road for the time being. The rupture should be repaired soon, according to the alert.

The gas leak occurred at Route 30 and North Anderson Road. On Feb. 15 there was another gas leak at the same location that was part of the Route 30 widening project.
