FBI Crime Stats: 1 in 100 New Lenox Residents Were Victims of Theft in 2010, On Average

For the first time, statistics in a report released by the FBI Monday detailed crime in New Lenox.

On Monday the FBI released statistics detailing crime across the country in its 2010 Uniform Crime Report.

Although in the past the FBI has reported on the number of law enforcement officials in New Lenox, this is the first year the FBI has reported detailed crime data for New Lenox. The data reflect communities that reported crime statistics for all 12 months of 2010.

The FBI reports that in 2010 New Lenox saw ten violent crimes, including seven cases of aggravated assault, two robberies and one case of rape. In addition, there was a total of 266 property crimes reported in New Lenox last year, 248 of which involved larceny or motor vehicle theft. That means that approximately 1 in 100 New Lenox residents were victims of theft in 2010, on average.
