Fatal DUI Case Calls for DNA Testing

Prosecutors want blood samples tested in the case against an Orland Park man charged with reckless homicide after a crash that killed a Lockport nurse.

Investigators were directed in a hearing Tuesday to conduct a DNA analysis of blood found at the scene of a DUI-related fatal accident last summer. A Lockport nurse was killed in the crash at LaGrange Road and 95th Street.

Heidi Roseen, a 51-year-old nurse, was killed July 8 in an accident on her way to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Matthew Senica, 25, pleaded not guilty to 14-counts of aggravated DUI and one count of reckless homicide, according to an Orland Park Patch story.

At a Tuesday hearing before Cook County Judge Carmen K. Aguilar at the Bridgeview Courthouse, prosecutors were authorized to conduct DNA testing on blood samples found at the scene. Read Orland Park Patch for details of the hearing.
