Crooks Committing Credit Card Fraud, Opening ComCast Accounts, Says New Lenox Cops

The New Lenox cops are after some frauds.

Swindlers recently used a woman's credit card to make unauthorized purchases and opened a Comcast account in an unwitting man's name, the New Lenox police said.

The cops first learned of the credit card crime when a woman reported it at the police station.

An officer spoke with the woman Friday evening and learned an "unknown person used her credit card to make unauthorized purchases," police said.

Then, the next afternoon, an officer met with a man at the station and was told an "unknown person used his personal information to open an account with Comcast," police said.

Both cases were turned over to the department's investigations division for review.
