Credit Card Fraud Racks Up Thousands On New Lenox Woman's Bill: Police Blotter

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 12

$3,100 credit bill racked up 

Police say they were called to the 2600 block of Barcoo Bend in regard to unauthorized usee of a credit card number. According to the report, a woman told police she'd gotten a credit card bill with $3,100 in unauthorized purchases. The matter is under investigation.

Welfare check concerns result in arrest

Eugene O'Brien, 50, of the 300 block of Sunset Trail, called police with some concerns over a welfare check. When officers arrived, they also discovered that O'Brien had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court. He was arrested and posted bond.

Suspended license violation

Raymundo Almaraz, 32, Joliet, was stopped in his car at Route 6 and Silver Cross Boulevard after a random registration check revealed that he was driving on a suspended license. He was issued a ticket. 

MONDAY, DEC. 10

Gym bag lifted from car

Police say a woman from the 800 block of Laraway Road filed a theft complaint because her gym bag was stolen from the back of her car. Police are investigating the incident.

Park bench damaged

Police say they were called to Cedar Road and Haines Avenue. Someone had notieced that a park bench was damaged at Haines Wayside Park, 200 Haines Ave.
