Caught in the Act of Vandalism: Police Blotter

An act of mischief at 4 a.m. resulted in an arrest for criminal damage to property and possession of marijuana.

SUNDAY, DEC. 9

Suspended license violations

Elena Rodriguez, 28, Wilmington, was initially stopped in her car at Route 30 and Dougall Road for driving without headlights. Police later learned that she was driving on a suspended license as well. She was cited for both offenses.

Erika Santos, 30, Joliet, was stopped in a car in the 1800 block of W. Route 30. A random registration check revealed that she was driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was cited for both traffic violations.

SATURDAY, DEC. 8

Vandalism turns into arrest for marijuana possession

Matthew Soja, 22, of the 800 block of Stonegate Road, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and possession of marijuana. According to the report, someone from the 800 block of Stonegate Road notified police about 4 a.m. that Soja was causing intentional damage on the property.

When police arrived, he was allegedly spotted red-handed in the act of mischief. During the arrest, police found he was in possession of some marijuana too. He posted bond and was released.

Suspended license nets a pair of tickets

Aurelio Perez, 42, Joliet, was stopped in his car at Route 6 and Silver Cross Boulevard after a computer check of his registration showed that his license had been suspended. He was ticketed for the suspension violation and for driving an uninsured vehicle.
