Car Scratched, Tires Slashed & Tailgate Taken—All in New Lenox

The New Lenox police are investigating a series of vehicle-related crimes

Vandals and a thief struck in New Lenox recently, and the crooks targeted cars for their crimes.

Police learned of the first incident shortly after 4 p.m. May 27. An officer was sent over to Grandview Drive and learned "an unknown person scratched his vehicle," police said.

Shortly before 7 a.m. the following day, an officer was sent to Rossford Lane and was told by a man there that "an unknown person removed the tailgate from his truck," police said.

Then, about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, an officer was sent to London Road where he met with a woman who told him "an unknown person slashed her tires," police said.

Detectives from the New Lenox Police Department are investigating all of these things.
