California Driver Stopped for Speeding, Ends up with DUI: Blotter

New Lenox DUI reports, Sept. 30 to Oct. 4

FRIDAY, OCT. 4

Tuanja Caruth, 52, of the 600 block of West Washington, Alhambra, CA, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and disobeying a traffic control device, according to a New Lenox police report. Police reported seeing a speeding car disobey a traffic control signal at about 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 30 and Vine. Cops found that the driver, Caruth, was under the influence after a traffic stop was performed. Caruth posted bond and was released.

MONDAY, SEPT. 30

James T. Sweeney, Jr., 33, of the 300 block of Hancock Drive, New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence, according to a report. Sweeney was stopped at about 3:36 a.m. near the intersection of Cedar Road and Maple. Police allegedly found that he was under the influence. Sweeney posted bond and was released.
