Braidwood Woman Peddles Pain Pills in Silver Cross Hospital Parking Lot: Police

The woman sold the pain pills right after getting them from the hospital, police said.

A Braidwood woman turned around and sold her prescription pain pills in the Silver Cross parking lot right after getting them from the hospital pharmacy Friday morning, police said.

Kristin Letterly, 41, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance.

The man who allegedly bought some of Letterly's Percocet pills—Gabriel Restrepo of 6146 N. Ravenwood Ave. in Chicago—was carrying a loaded .380 handgun when he was arrested, police said. Restrepo was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.

New Lenox police detectives were reportedly tipped off to a woman selling her prescription medication and staked out the hospital.

"Investigators conducted surveillance and observed Letterly get the prescription filled in the pharmacy inside Silver Cross Hospital after a visit with her doctor," police said. "Letterly then met with Restrepo in the parking lot and sold him a portion of her prescription medication, Percocet."

Letterly and Restrepo both were booked into the Will County jail.
