Blotter: Martino Jr. High Fight Results in Aggravated Battery Arrest

Also, two women were charged with yelling and throwing items in Walmart. New Lenox police reports, June 25-28.

THURSDAY, JUNE 28

License Violations

  • Sarah Golembiewski, 21, of the 100 block of Prairie Road in New Lenox, was ticketed for speeding and driving with a suspended license. 
  • Luis Esparza, 31, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance, and a weight limit violation. He was also charged with the same offenses at a different location the previous day.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27

Kmart Theft

Dorene McSheffrey, 57, of the 2400 block of Daniel Lewis Drive, was charged with retail theft. Police said she took about $200 of merchandise from the Kmart in New Lenox without paying for it. She posted bond and was released.

Booze, Run

Nicholas Strickland, 19, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft. Police said he tried to take a bottle of alcohol from the Jewel on Nelson Road. He posted bond and was released.

Walmart Yellers

Katarra Lindsey, 21, of Joliet, and Brittany Young, 22, of the 1500 block of Fairmont Drive in New Lenox, were charged with disorderly conduct. Police said they were yelling and throwing merchandise in the New Lenox Walmart.

Cash Stolen

A purse was found in the 200 block of Woodlawn Road, and when returned to the owner she said $15 was missing. 

Car Burglary

An iPod, GPS system and personal DVD player were taken from an unlocked car parked in the 200 block of Circlegate Road. 

TUESDAY, JUNE 26

Aggravated Battery

Carly Johandes, 19, of Manhattan, was charged with aggravated battery followin a fight behind Martino Junior High School. When police arrived at the scene, about five people fled on foot. A victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital to be treated for injuries, and Johandes was located and accused as the offender. She was taken to Will County Jail.

Bike Stolen

A bike was stolen from a home in the 700 block of Downing Street. 

Theft

Various items, valued at $180 total, were stolen from the rear of a building in the 300 block of West Route 30. 

Flower Caper

Sharon Hudson, 47, of the 2100 block of Digby Drive in New Lenox, was charged with theft. Police said she was stealing plants and flowers from residents' yards. . 

You've Got (No) Mailbox

A mailbox was stolen from a home in the 600 block of Ridgefield Road.
