Blotter: Man Charged With Weed Possession, Arrested on Warrant

Also, a car burglary and property damage at a local park. New Lenox police reports, July 1-5.

THURSDAY, JULY 5

Suspended License

William Bills, 25, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and speeding after police stopped him near Cedar Road and Joliet Highway.

Car Burglary

The front face of a car stereo was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2600 block of Southwind Drive. 

Phone, Watch Taken

Someone stole a phone and a watch from a home in the 600 block of Grand Prairie Drive. Police said the items were valued at $700.

Revoked License

Jose Acosta-Ceron, 28, of Chicago, was ticketed for a lane violation and driving with a revoked license. 

TUESDAY, JULY 3

Property Damage

A picnic table at Lions Den Park was damaged. 

License Violations

  • Jesus Ruiz, 55, of Mendota, was ticketed for driving with a weight violation and a suspended license. 
  • Francis Hall, 50, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his plates near Route 6 and Cedar Road.

SUNDAY, JULY 1

Pot, Traffic Charges

Timothy C. Mercede, 24, of the 100 block of Pottawatomie Lane in New Lenox, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after a traffic stop in the 9300 block of Lincoln Highway in Frankfort. Mercede also was arrested on an outstanding Will County warrant and booked in to Will County Jail. He was released on bond.
