MONDAY, JAN. 7

Suspicious vehicle report results in citations

A complaint of a suspicious vehicle about 1:25 a.m. in the area of Gougar and Ferro Roads moved police to stop Christopher Martinez, 22, Bolingbrook, in his car. A computer check revealed that he was driving on a suspended license. He was ticketed for the violation. 

SATURDAY, JAN. 5

Random registration check

Calvin McDonald, 63, Joliet was stopped by police in his vehicle at Route 6 and Gougar Road after a random registration check came back with information that he was driving on a suspended license. He was ticketed for driving on a suspended license violation and for operating an uninsured vehicle.

FRIDAY, JAN. 4

Bank teller spots fraudulent check

Officials from Old Second Bank in the 900 block of E. Route 30 filed a complaint about 4:10 p.m. after an unknown customer attempted to cash a $1,600 fraudulent check. The patron left the bank. 

Random registration check turns up outstanding warrant

Police stopped 36-year-old Katie Harderman, Joliet, in her car at Route 6 and Gougar Road during a random registration check. A computer check of information revealed that she was driving on a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court out of Willowbrook.

THURSDAY, JAN. 3

Windows at Third Avenue business broken

Police say a small business owner in the 200 block of W. Third Avenue complained that two windows had been broken. The amount of damage caused was not noted. The matter is under investigation. A criminal damage to property complaint was filed.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 2

Tire slashed

The owner of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of W. Third Avenue filed a complaint after discovering a tire had been slashed. Police are investigating the incident. 

Driving on a revoked license

Steven Higgins, 53, of the 700 block of E. Lincoln Highway, was stopped in his vehicle in the 2300 block of E. Route 30. Police learned that he was driving on a revoked license, an expired registration and that he was operating an uninsured vehicle. He was arrested and taken to Will County Jail.
