Bank Accounts Raided in New Lenox: Police Blotter

See how much hard-earned cash was siphoned from two people's bank accounts.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 14

Thief attempts to cash $2,500 in checks from closed account

Police say someone from the 100 block of W. Route 30 attempted to cash two checks valued at $2,500 from a closed bank account. A deceptive practices complaint was filed, and the matter is under investigation.

Redbox damaged; criminal damage to property complaint

Police are investigating a complaint that someone damaged the screen on a Redbox machine in the 400 block of Nelson Road. Damage is estimated at $400.

Ticketed for driving on suspended license

Colleen Dooley, 42, Morris, was stopped in her car by police at Route 30 and Nelson Road after a random registration check. She was ticketed for driving on a suspended license and for operating an uninsured vehicle. 

TUESDAY, NOV. 13

$600 stolen using debit card

Someone from the 1800 block of Alana Drive told police that $600 was siphoned from her checking account. An unauthorized debit card purchase was funneled through her account. Police are investigating the incident.

MONDAY, NOV. 12

A whopping $5,000 stolen from bank account

Someone form the 600 block of Pine Street told police that $5,000 was stolen from his checking account. Police are investigating the matter as fraud. 

Wedding ring stolen from purse 

A woman from the 300 block of Alana Drive filed a theft complaint after discovering that her wedding ring had been lifted from her purse.
