April Crime Reports: Magic Mushrooms, Caretaker Steals Jewelry

The New Lenox Police Department released its monthly crime statistics for April last week.

New Lenox Police made five felony arrests in April, according to monthly statistics released last week by the department.

A partially disabled subject told police that a part-time caretaker stole valuable jewelry from him while in his home. The jewelry was located at a pawn shop in Harvey, along with pawned tems from other potential victims. Police tracked down the caretaker, to support her drug habit. She was charged with two counts of felony theft.

During a routine traffic stop, police discovered that the driver was in possession of 130 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Eric Albarron, 23, of Lockport, was taken to Will County Jail and charges were preferred to the State Attorney's Office.

Finally, a resident told police that from his New Lenox home April 20 after one person distracted him and led him away from the front door. Police are still investigating the incident.
