$200,000 Bail for Accused Drunken Driver in Fatal Frankfort Crash

A Monee man is charged with aggravated DUI in a crash that killed an elderly Mokena couple, according to a media report.

Bail was set at $200,000 for a man charged with drunken driving in a fatal crash from Thursday near Frankfort, Sun-Times Media reports.

Police said John Wiesch, of Monee, blew a stop sign in a pickup truck at the intersection of LaGrange and Pauling roads, crashing into a 2013 Toyota Avalon carrying a husband and wife from Mokena, the report states. The 84-year-old driver died at the scene. His wife was flown to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she died.

Wiesch also was hospitalized before he was released into police custody, the report states. He was charged of felony aggravated DUI and misdemeanor DUI.
