I have taken great offense to the above mentioned story.

I do not understand the reasoning behind this story being reported by the Patch and I am frankly incredibly disappointed and disgusted that this story was reported, since it only perpetuates the MYTH that Pit Bulls are vicious!

Dogs attack other dogs every day, so why was this particular attack reported...?

I strongly believe it was only reported, because the dog who attacked another dog was a Pit Bull!

I own a rescued Pit Bull who is the biggest lover and I work hard to educate people about the true nature of Pits., which is that they are loving, goofy, smart, loyal, sweet, great, great dogs!

The Patch should now be do the responsible thing and report on the goodness of Pit Bulls, and apologize for contributing to the awful, completely unwarranted hatred and fear directed at these beautiful, loving dogs by ignorant, uneducated people!

Only Pit Bulls that are trained to fight will fight other dogs and this in order to please the owner, since they are such incredibly loyal dogs.

They do not want to fight, but they are made to fight.

The fact that the Pit Bull attacked the Terrier is 100% the fault of the OWNER, who did not properly raise her dog, a dog that happens to be a Pit Bull.

I am very, very sorry that this happened to the Terrier!

However, again, put the blame where it belongs, on the owner!

Thus, I hope that the Patch will do the honorable thing by removing this story and, hopefully, replacing it with a goodwill story about Pit Bulls and the truth about their, in fact, gentle nature and goodness.

Thank you!
