New Lenox Fire Protection District Firefighters Continue Training, Awarded Certifications

(JULY 1, 2013) – New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) firefighter/paramedics (FF/PM) have been hard at work since the beginning of March.  Over the past four months many have gone above and beyond their everyday training classes to obtain special Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall (OSFM) certificates.  

 

Four firefighters completed their Fire Officer I training. They are: FF/PM Eric Chellios, FF/PM John Harkenrider, FF/PM Dan Malone, and FF/PM Daniel Reynolds.

FF/PM Andrew Hughes, FF/PM Jereme Leahy, FF/PM Travis Lergner, and FF/PM Joe Ward received their Fire Apparatus Engineer certificate.

Several firefighters also attended training courses in Technical Rescues, receiving OSFM certificates. They included: FF/PM Ryan Mallary, FF/PM Chad Pacey, Lt. Thomas Van Tilburg, and Lt. Dan Vanek.

 

In addition to the certificates listed above, FF/PM Ethan Nowakowski received a certificate in Hazmat Operations, Lt. Thomas Van Tilburg received his Intructor II certificate, and FF/EMT Brendan Bandyk and FF/EMT Stephan Foster gained their Basic Operations Firefighter certificates.

 

The primary mission of the New Lenox Fire and Ambulance Protection District is to provide a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property within New Lenox Village and Township from the effects for fires and sudden medical emergencies or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature with professional, compassionate, and quality service.
