Make Sure You are Part of the Decision on Nov. 6

Illinois residents have until October 9 to register to vote for the November 6 election. Here are the details for New Lenox residents to get registered.

The airwaves, blogs and newspaper opinion pages are heating up as we move closer and closer to Election Day 2012—November 6.  Make sure you can participate.  The last day to register to vote for this election is October 9.

You have lots of places to register.  The Village of New Lenox will register their residents at the Village Hall.  See http://www.newlenox.net/voter_registration for details.  New Lenox Township will register anyone in the township, including village residents.  See http://www.newlenox.org/services.asp#voter for their hours.

If you miss the registration deadline of October 9th, you still have another option to vote called Grace Period.  However, this will require you to vote on the same day you register.  Grace Period Voting runs from October 10th through November 3rd and is only available at the Will County Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Chicago St., Joliet.  If you have any questions about Grace Voting, please call the Will County Clerk’s Registration Department at (815) 740-4620 or e-mail us at voterregistration@willcountyillinois.com.
