Taxed enough already!

Lincolnway Tea Party explains who we are

The president and the Democratic Party have been bashing the Tea Party a lot lately and this trend will continue until they find out who makes up the Tea Party.

T.E.A. stands for "Taxed Enough Already!" The only people who don't get this are those who don't pay any taxes, now right around 50 percent of Americans. That should be of concern to all of us.

There are many reasons for this. These people are not just the poor, unemployed or the homeless. A lot of them are illegal immigrants given sanctuary in our state.  Some are living off the underground economy and some are just plain tax cheats.  Whatever the reason, it's not fair they are not contributing their fair share.

Most of us working class people (middle class) are already over-taxed. We can't afford to pay more taxes. We are just keeping our heads above water. This is one reason the Tea Party exists, but it’s not the only reason.

Government is out of control. One major purpose of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights was to control government. History shows government will always move toward more and more control, less and less freedom, higher and higher taxes and power vested in a fewer number of people.

Manipulation of the masses has always been their game. It shows up as free bread and circuses, religious control with a state-controled church, welfare and government jobs as payoff to supporters. The Tea Party knows how this inflates the cost of government and abuses the Constitution. The Tea Party is you and me. It does not appeal to the political in party of the day who are trying to hold on to and expand their power.

Only us tax-payers can stand in the gap and stop this runaway government control over our lives and their deficit spending. Please come out to one of our meetings and see for yourself. We are educating ourselves and our neighbors on the important issues and vetting candidates who want to run for local, state and national office. Our litmus test is the U.S. Constitution and fiscally conservative principals both for government and the individual.

We can spend ourselves into oblivion but we can never buy our way out of it.  See you Oct. 13, 7 p.m. at the Building
