Operation Santa 2012 Visits For Homebound Seniors of New Lenox Township

On Saturday, December 15th, New Lenox Township will once again board the Township Bus with Santa and his elves to deliver Christmas cheer to local homebound seniors.  The Santa Bus “Operation Santa Claus” is an annual event sponsored by the Township to ensure that New Lenox Township seniors who are homebound are remembered during the holiday season. 

“Operation Santa Claus was established for the seniors of the Township who are homebound.” said Township Supervisor Bill McCollum.   “We visit these seniors to deliver some Christmas cheer, a few gifts and some wonderful Christmas Carols.”   Supervisor McCollum also asks, “If you know of a senior citizen who lives in New Lenox Township (unincorporated or incorporated New Lenox) that would benefit from, or enjoy, a Christmas visit from Santa and his helpers, please contact the New Lenox Township Offices at 815-485-6431, ask for Kathie. 

We are also looking for gift donations to deliver to our seniors.   If you are interested in donating a gift to put some cheer into someone’s life, listed below are a number of things that you can donate.   Please drop off all donated items before December 12th at the New Lenox Township Offices located at 1100 South Cedar Road, New Lenox.
