As everyone knows our children have been dismissed from school for SUMMER VACATION!!! It will be many weeks till they go back to September school days.

For the families with children who receive food from the pantry there are few treats for the children. Summer vacation days are long and kids can work up appetites in many different ways. Many families cannot afford food to feed their families let alone buy snacks and treats. As for the Food Pantry, we cannot afford to buy those treats as we spend the donated funds we receive on essential food items.
That is why I am asking everyone to consider bringing a donation of cookies to the New Lenox Township Food Pantry. Whenever I do have the occasion to give out treats to the kids I am overjoyed by the look of excitement I see on their faces as they discover that they will be going home to some yummy cookies.

If you care to donate cookies, please drop them off at the New Lenox Township Offices located at 1100 South Cedar Road in New Lenox. If you would care to you may also drop cookies off at the VFW Post 9545 located at 323 Old Hickory Road during normal business hours. They will deliver them to the Pantry for you.
