Little Guy, and Junior Varsity Wrestlers Winning Big on the Mat

Celtic Elite Youth Wrestlers Winning Results

Early last Sunday morning as most of the Lincoln Way area youth were just waking up, the wrestlers at Celtic Elite Wrestling Club were on the mats at Bolingbrook High School and winning big.   The club formed in 2012 has had a successful season this year at each of their three levels.  Coach Will McDermott has a unique approach to why Celtic Elite has been so triumphant this year.  “A few weeks ago our firtst year wrestlers entered a rookie tournament at Lincoln Way  West.  We brought the least amount of wrestlers, to the tournament and placed 3nd.  That tells me as a program we are developing our new wrestlers at a faster pace than other clubs.  I believe this can be attributed to our board’s rigorous standard of caching everyone.”  The club which expects their wrestlers to “excel at an elite level on the mat, in the classroom and in the community” is hosted by Providence Catholic High School.

The wrestlers that placed 1st at Bolingbrook were:  Will Denny, Konrad Guzman, Nick Pech, Karter Guzman, and Joey Vega of Manhattan,  Thomas Drogemuller of Mokena, and Ethan Hartnell of Joliet.  The wrestlers that took 2nd place were:  Kevin Countryman of Morris, Carson Parker and Paul Kadlec of Lockport, Carmen Pecho of Manhattan, Thomas Luedke of Shorewood, and Tyler Mansker, Cameron Knepper, Linden Boyce, Joey Malito, Liam McDermott, Devin Swidergal, Owen Gerdes and Rian Neaon of New Lenox.
