A collection drive for Operation Care Package has been set up with three local businesses, with each business offering their own incentive to encourage people to support our Troops this Christmas. Operation Care Package(www.operationcarepackages.org) sends items such as toiletries, batteries, coffee, beef sticks, soup, peanut butter & jelly, crackers, cookies, foot powder, lip balm, and other requested items to our Troops all over the world.

The first drop off location is Dave’s Auto, located at 11120 Front Street in downtown Mokena. They are giving $5 off an oil change for items donated from the wish list, and an oil change is a necessary service for your car before the start of winter. Eclectic Attic, the second drop off location, recently opened on the upper level of the Trolley Barn in downtown Frankfort. They are offering a 10% discount on all their new merchandise, and is a great place to shop for unique gifts and collectables.  EmbroidMe in New Lenox is the third drop off spot, and is located at 2457 Joliet Highway between Rt. 30 and Schoolhouse Road. Anyone donating an item at EmbroidMe will be entered into a raffle for a hooded sweatshirt that you can have embroidered with your favorite high school sports team.  The winning ticket will be pulled on November 16 at 5pm and the winner does not need to be present to win.

The following item(s) are being sought for our Troops to qualify for the incentives: 1 Box Of Protein/Granola Bars, 1 Box Instant Oatmeal, 1 Box Of Hot Chocolate, 1 Pack Of AA/AAA Batteries, 3 Cans Of Hearty Soup/Stew, 3 Cans Of Tuna/Chicken, 3 Cans Ravioli, 3 Cans Fruit, Coffee (2lb Bag Or 8oz.
