Patrons Visit Red on First Day of Fundraiser

Chili's kicks off first day of fundraiser for NL Fire District's new search and rescue bloodhound, Red.

About 150 people came out to Chili's Grill & Bar Sunday for a Meet and Greet of Red, the new search and rescue bloodhound on the New Lenox Fire Protection District.

Out of the 150 patrons approximately 100 were children. In addition to meeting Red, everyone could see the fire truck, fire engine and an ambulance.  They also met firefighters, Sparky and Chili's Pepper Pal.  Children received goodie bags filled with coloring books, pencils, stickers and even fire helmets!

Sunday was the first day of the fundraiser for Red, who needs continued training and equipment.  The fundraiser will go until Thursday May 3rd.
