New Lenox's "Finest" Win the Game—Again!

The rivalry between the New Lenox Fire District and New Lenox Police Department continued again this year.  It was neck and neck the whole game through! 

The New Lenox firefighters almost won the game this year, but the New Lenox police officers took home the trophy, again.  The score was 4-3 in this year's Fourth Annual Guns n' Hoses Charity Softball game in favor of New Lenox's "finest". 

However, the big winner this year was really the New Lenox Township Food Pantry and those it serves.  The game raised over $3100 cash this year and $600 in food donations.

The major sponsors of $250 or more in donations were from Silver Cross Hospital, Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Superior Towing, MNM Cycle & Auto Repair, Austin Development, Perry Group, LTD, Dan's Towing, EVT Technologies, M.O. Graphics, Chicago Dough Company, Lincoln Way Community Bank, Ray's Auto Body, and New Lenox Travel.

Sponsors that donated at least $100 or more were from the Law Office of Michael R. Naughton, Sports Huddle, Debbie Andrews-Griffin of Keller Williams Reality, Primetime Restaurant, Laraway Lanes, Walgreens, DT Consulting Solutions, Donald J. Copeland, Beggar's Pizza, and Janice Pena.

Other sponsors were Chicago Slaughter, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, New Lenox Community Park District, Lincoln-Way Officials Association, Chicago Sky, Chicago Rush, Chicago Bears, and Caps Tees.

The New Lenox Police Department and New Lenox Fire District would also like to send a special thank you to Providence High School student, John Narcissi, who graciously sang the National Anthem prior to the start of the game.  Both departments would also like to thank Mayor Tim Baldermann for throwing out the first pitch and his continued support for the game and cause.

As the famous saying goes "there's always next year" for the "bravest" to finally take home the trophy, we will see.
